Coris accessibility statement
SoReachMe MB (company code 307501789, registered address Žalgirio g. 92, Vilnius, 09303, Lithuania) wants every student to be able to use Coris, including students with dyslexia, low vision, or who use a keyboard or a screen reader. This statement covers the website coris.lt, the web app at app.coris.lt and the Coris app for macOS and Windows.
Standard and status
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, as required for public bodies by EN 301 549, and WCAG 2.2 where we can. Coris partially meets it: the exceptions are listed under "Known limits".
What Coris does
- Text size 100-150 % for the answer and Settings windows (Settings → Reading and accessibility). Browser and system zoom work too.
- Easier reading: a clearer font (Lexend), wider spacing between letters, words and lines, and a soft background instead of bright white.
- Read aloud: the 🔊 button (or the T key) reads the task and the explanation, or the text you selected; each tutor reply in the chat has its own 🔊. We use your device's voice when it has one for the language; for Lithuanian, which most devices lack, our own voice, with a daily limit.
- Speaking instead of typing: the 🎤 button in the chat writes down what you say, in Lithuanian or English, in the desktop app and in every browser. Your device's dictation works in the chat field too.
- Keyboard: everything can be reached with Tab, focus is visible, Esc closes windows and dialogs, and Enter takes the whole picture instead of dragging over the task. The answer window lists its shortcuts under ?.
- Screen readers: buttons have names, dialogs are announced as dialogs, and a new answer is announced when it arrives.
- Colours have at least 4.5:1 contrast for text, light and dark themes follow the system, and animations stop when the system asks for reduced motion.
Your device's own tools
They work with Coris too: VoiceOver (Mac, iPhone, iPad), Narrator and NVDA (Windows), TalkBack (Android) and ChromeVox (Chromebook) screen readers; Spoken Content, Select to Speak and Read aloud in Edge; zoom and larger text; Voice Control and Voice Access; dictation (Lithuanian works with Google's keyboard and in Chrome, not with Apple's dictation).
Known limits
- Selecting a task on a picture is done by dragging. Alternatives: Enter or "Whole image" takes the whole picture, and on a phone the photo can be cropped first.
- The picture itself is an image. Coris reads it, and the task then appears in the answer as text that screen readers and read aloud can use.
- Capturing the screen in the desktop app is a visual tool; blind students are better served by the web app with a photo or a document.
- Our own voice and speech-to-text have a daily limit per student. Your device's voice and dictation have none.
- Coris has been checked with automated tools and by keyboard, but not yet by screen reader users. We are arranging that with schools.
How we checked
A self-assessment on 2026-10-24: automated checks with axe-core (WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2, levels A and AA) on the website and every window of the web app, and keyboard-only use.
